While St. Mark's 115th school year began with remote classes, 904 Marksmen returned to campus in September – their first time back at 10600 Preston Road in 180 days.
Returning to Routine
Throughout the year, students and teachers found creative ways to carry on as normal as possible, while still maintaining a safe and healthy campus.
Back on the Field
Lion spirits were at an all-time high as competitions resumed throughout the year.
A Season of Hope
The Christmas season wouldn't be the same without the St. Mark's Choir celebrating a Service of Lessons & Carols. The 2020 service was streamed to the entire community live from the Perot Quadrangle.
The Path to Manhood Continues
The Seniors and Lower School buddies moved outdoors for the 2020 All-School Christmas Party. The beloved tradition of buddies decorating the Christmas tree continued, this time just steps from the Path to Manhood statue.
Connecting with Speakers Across the Globe
Despite pandemic restrictions, Marksmen met virtually with unique "visiting" speakers throughout the year, including during the virtual Literary Festival.
Winter Storm Uri
After facing a tornado and pandemic in recent years, students and teachers were dealt another curveball: the February 2021 winter storm that effectively shutdown Texas for a week.
Community Support Continues
The Junior Class continued its tradition of hosting McDonald's Week, although the festivities were relocated to campus. Nevertheless, the community rallied support for Austin Street Center.
Maintaining Tradition
With some creative rescheduling, the 4th-Grade Class was able to hold Banner Chapel alongside Final Chapel. After processing in with their handmade banners, the boys concluded their Lower School careers and "graduated" to Middle School.
The Class of 2021
In May, the Class of 2021 celebrated its Commencement, capping off an incredible St. Mark's career.
